Hey, Mr DJ . . .

Ok, so I got myself a new, poisonously pink, portable CD player (yes, with MP3 and VCD playback) and now I need some new tunes to play on it. So how about you guys write in with playlists and song recommendations?

In other news, we had aloo ke parathay and nihari for brunch. Together. I think I'll roll over and pass out now.

Assalamualaikum,

Ushi: Thanks but hip-hop's not really my thang. I prefer jazz and acoustic stuff.

Bushra: Where do you download your music from? I've heard a lot about Ipods but download speeds in Pakistan are so slow. Besides, you can never find the music you want, any more. It's easier just to drive down to Rainbow Centre and pick out a few CDs.

Assalamualaikum,

Ushi: Actually, quite a few of my friends listen to hip-hop. So I'm not sure how you figured guys don't like hip-hop. In Karachi, I didn't download much on the dial-up because it was very slow. However, the problem nowadays isn't lack of speed but the fact that all the songs seem to have disappeared from Kazaa.

Baji: now you're talking my langwitch! Yup, those guys are awesome. Have you heard Louis Prima's "Yes We Have No Bananas"?

I find myself listening to either jazz or bhangra/punjabi music, depending on what my mood is. Sometimes nothing. But for jazz, since that's what you like, I'll suggest Miles & Coltrane, obviously. But I also like this guy named Joshua Redman, esp. "Chill."
