Update

By the Grace of God, Ammi's operation went well. I got a chance to speak to the surgeon afterwards and she said that it was a giant cyst, about a foot wide and as deep, but there didn't seem to be any sign of malignancy. Alhumdulillah, Ammi's feeling better now though the first night was incredibly bad. The morphine drip broke down and there was no one available to fix it until late the next morning. It's criminal, really. To have a patient with a raw surgical incision suffer so long. They should have a spare arrangement or technical staff on call who can quickly repair the machines.

alhamdulillah, that's awesome news. may Allah reward her for going through the pain and grant her a speedy recovery. man that sounds insane. did they at least have hardcore painkillers to help out a lil bit?

alhamdulillah, that the operation went well. As for the post-op situations.. unfortunately I can say from witnessing a few (of the "best") hospitals in the US, post-op care seems to be negligent all over the place.

salaam! alhumdulillah, glad to hear she's on the mend. insha'Allah, she'll recover quickly and never have to see the inside of a hospital again (except to visit you hard at work!).

Assalamualaikum,

Anjum: Jazak Allah, sister. The difference is that in the US, if a similar incident were to occur, you have the option of taking them to task and suing for negligence. Here you just have to grimace and bear it.

Baji: Jazak Allah, baji. It's very kind of you.
